DhunTara Presents Kuchipudi Dance Opera by P Uday Shankar

(A presentation by Sri Ambikeshwara Kuchipudi Dance and Music Academy, Visakhapatnam, India)
Mr. P. Uday Shenkar was born in 1985, in Visakhapatnam to Sri P. V. Bharani Shenkar and Smt. Chetana Shenkar. He hails from a Classical Traditional Heirloom and is the Fourth Generation Artiste from his family. Mr. Uday Shenkar is the only son and disciple of National Second Generation Guru, “Nritya Kala Thapaswi”, “Natyakala Prapoorna”, Sri P. V. Bharani Shenkar of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India.

He started learning Kuchipudi Dance at the age of four and since then was trained under the hard-worship and dedication to our highly prestigious INDIAN CLASSICAL DANCE OF KUCHIPUDI.

For his talent, the Andhra Pradesh Government noticed him and arranged a prestigious performance before HIS EXCELLENCY, Smt. and Sri Dr. C. Rangarajan. This prestigious performance was held at Horseley Hills, Madanapalli, Chittor District, on 24th May, 1998, which will forever remain enthralled in our memory.

Mr. Uday Shenkar is a well moulded artiste with a compulsive appeal with his looks, articulation and sophistry. His electric movements of ‘Thandava’ (hard and heavy movements), ‘Lasya’ (soft movements) and elegance of his sculpturesique postures in all his performances have been well received by Classical Art Lovers in special and immensely appreciated by the public.
